How to Read Food Labels for Energy and Mental Clarity

Do you know what you're eating? Do you believe that the food industry knows about your personal health? This presentation will build on the the presentation that Dr. Allott shared from August 2017. She will teach you how to evaluate nutritional labels on the foods you consume, and which components are the most important to have sustained energy throughout the day.  If you can remember bring some food that has a label— your favorite protein bar, cereal, bread, or treat.

Dr. Kristen Allott is a physician and national speaker, who works with executives and key performers to optimize their brains to thrive in the accelerating information age. She is also Gordon Allott’s daughter.

"Stop the Bleed"

As shootings and other mass casualty incidents are on the rise, a new movement is gaining momentum to counteract the devastating effects of these events. Instead of running away, Americans are responding to a call to act, to become equipped to respond and save life and limb from further injury or loss. Thousands of people are enrolling in courses to learn the basics– very simple ways they can “Stop the Bleed,” and save lives and limbs.

The Stop the Bleed campaign was launched by the White House in 2015 and represents the joint efforts of the American College of Surgeons, FEMA and the US Department of Homeland Security to equip bystanders to become immediate responders. Hospitals, schools, and EMS around the country have joined the call to provide training on bleeding control to first responders and lay people, and to place bleeding control kits in public places, much as AEDs are commonly found.
