Christopher Knoll is the Rotary Club of Castle Rock’s Student of the Month for October 2020.

Christopher Knoll, senior at Castle View High School (CVHS), was awarded the Rotary Club of Castle Rock’s Student of the Month for October 2020 during a e-Meeting with the club on March 24, 2021.  The delay in presenting Chris with his award was due to COVID-19 restrictions.  CVHS Principal Rex Corr presented the award.

Corr introduced Knoll as a strong student ant a dedicated athlete.  He is a member of the National Honor Society and of the CVHS Sabre Cat Athletic Leadership Team (SALT).  Chris is a two-year varsity letterman in hockey and currently serves as the assistant Captain on the CVHS Hockey Team.  He is also a three-year academic letter recipient and was nominated to the Hockey Academic All State Team by CHASA (the Colorado High School All State Activities Association).

His engineering teacher said that "Chris is a superb programmer of his robot in engineering II robotics class. He's at the top of his class."  Another teacher said that "Chris is a kind hearted and friendly leader" who "took time to really get to know the other students in his classroom".

Chris is very active in serving his community, especially through his former elementary school and his church.  He's brought STEM activities to Larkspur Elementary, served as a camp counselor, and volunteered at the Larkspur Fall Festival.  He regularly volunteers at the St. Francis of Assisi food bank.  He's also served as a tutor at CVHS and as a hockey coach for young hockey players.

He has done a great job balancing his academic, athletic and service activities while working part time.  Congratulations on maintaining a 3.74 GPA at CVHS.

Chris will graduate in May 2021 and will be studying civil engineering at the Colorado School of Mines.
