Ride to End Polio

Thank you from Team Rotary Club of Castle Rock for your contribution to the Ride to End Polio/El Tour de Tucson, Arizona on November 20, 2021.  This is the largest single day fundraiser for Polio Eradication.  Team Rotary Club of Castle Rock raised $18,657 (including a 2:1 match from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation).

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. We've reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.  Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan, but it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free.  Although there is no cure for polio, until it is eradicated worldwide, it can be prevented with a vaccine.  If all vaccination efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.

We're very close to eradicating this devastating disease.  Thanks for helping us continue the fight.
