Ride to End Polio
Ride to End Polio
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. We've reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979. Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan, but new cases have been identified recently in countries that were polio-free. Although there is no cure for polio, until it is eradicated worldwide, it can be prevented with a vaccine. Without vaccines, polio is only a plane ride away. If all vaccination efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.
We're very close to eradicating this devastating disease. Thanks for helping us continue the fight.
