The Rotary Club of Castle Rock recently visited the Douglas Elbert Task Force, an organization that has long been supported by the club. Volunteer Coordinator Marion Dahlem and others showed the club the grocery store, the thrift store and the client intake area. The Task Force helps people with food, housing, job placement and other needs in times of hardship. The thrift store helps support those efforts, as do donations from many sources. The club has helped in the past with building renovation, food purchases and other things. The latest $3,000 grant will go into the Task Force's general fund and be used for cash assistance and to buy food. Last year the Task Force had 16,000 visits from people needed assistance.
