As a graduate in Finance and International Marketing, Ms. Vaughn has had over 20 years of business experience. Those skills, coupled with being a teacher and trainer, has allowed her to utilized her skills to be an effective instructor and administrator. With a background additionally in business, and running a financial company, she has many of the talents needed to guide the working operations of Financial Literacy First.

As a graduate of Jones International University (Summa Cum Laude), and a graduate of Wayne State University (B.S. dual management major), she is well versed on academia. With a passion to lead others to economic empowerment, Ms. Vaughn, is constantly striving to make our communities a better place. This means she is committed to educating both the young person and older worker. As the owner of Business & Financial Management Services, her profession puts her in front of many small business owners and individuals. This pulse on the community means she is in touch with how important it is for people to become financially literate.

Dr. Tanyss Munro | Co-founder & Executive Director May 19, 2021
Amarok Society

Dr. Tanyss Munro has devoted her life, with her husband, best-selling author Gem Munro, to improving educational opportunities for disadvantaged people across Canada and abroad. Through her work as an educator with remote native communities, as senior advisor to federal Ministers, to Regional Tribal political organizations, and to the Commonwealth, Tanyss and her husband Gem have had the privilege of getting to really know life in communities ranging from Arctic hamlets to Parliament Hill and the sprawling slums of mega-cities. In response to observing the impact of no education for millions of the world’s poorest children, Tanyss and Gem founded Amarok Society in 2006 in the slums of Bangladesh and Pakistan – with 24 schools reaching over 3,000 children and families a year. For their work, they were recipients of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals.

Manchichi (Mother and Child) Project in Panama

Dr. Gottula is a member of the Boquete Panama Rotary club #68399 District 4240 who will be visiting Denver and Colorado Springs for a few weeks.

He will be sharing information about an exciting project we underway called the Manchichi (mother and child) Project, which will sponsor and manage a training program for midwives (who have no formal midwife training) in an indigenous community nearby. The initiative is being modeled after a similar program in Guatemala that significantly reduced maternal mortality.  The goal is to significantly impact maternal and infant mortality in the indigenous people in the Ngobe Bugle Comarca in Panama which is about 10 times higher than in Panama City.

Front Range High School Rodeo team is a newly formed team with members from the many areas in the South Metro Denver area. We hold weekly practices with discipline specific coaches to improve the skills of our members.
